Jazz of the twenties was first was played in the New Orleans area and it spread north, east, and west.
Jazz became popular within Harlem and it was the music of some speakeasies. It was popular with the young people that wanted to forget the horrors of the World War One and enjoy life. They
Jazz style requires improvisation in many peaces it also used chords quite often. It was originally theme and variation. Swing style came during the nineteen thirties
Jazz was a lot more popular in the cities rather than rural communities because traditional values were less accepted in the cities by young people.
